Turkic influence in Malay language?

Hello,



I just started learning Turkish and was surprised when I found some similar words in modern Indonesian. So I wonder if there is a connection or where could the influence come from. Both Turkish and Indonesian absorb a lot of Arabic words and there are many words in Indonesian that comes from Sanscrit. I believe these words are not Arabic or Sanscrit (I may be wrong):



cevap (Turkish) = jawab (Indonesian), pronounced quite similarly, both means answer or to answer

kuvvet - force, in Indonesian 'kuat' means strong (kuvvetlı ?)

kırtasiye - stationery, the word for 'paper' in Indonesian is 'kertas'

and the other word that may have some similarity - or maybe just a coincidence - is 'money' - 'para' in Turkish sounds very close to 'pera' in Tagalog (that also has a lot of similar words with Indonesian/Malay) - and there is an old term for monetary units in Indonesian which is 'perak', still used in the colloquial language to refer to small money, but formally means 'silver'.



Any insights?
